Garia Srirampur Kalyan Samity is
located in Garia on the southern fringe of Kolkata and in the close
proximity of Kavi Nazrul Metro Station, Raja S. C. Mullick Road, 5 & 6
No. CSTC Bus Terminus and Garia Dinabandhu Andrews College.
Under the auspices of the neighbouring fraternity at large, the Samity
(club) had to expand its activities gradually. Consequent upon the
introduction of many more new departments brimming over with the new
members, the club got constructed a second building in 2007 at 66A,
Srirampur Road (North), Kolkata - 700084 on a piece of land purchased by
the Samity which was inaugurated on April 15, 2009. Another three
storied building was also constructed by the side of Swimming Pool, to
match the need of development in various fields.
A hub of myriad activities in the field of sports and games, the
Samity ceaselessly caters to the intellectual needs of the people
through its well-stocked library and manifold cultural & social
activities organized round the year.
During a span of five decades, Garia Srirampur Kalyan Samity
has made its sizeable growth through series of proactive
social-activities, justifying the word 'Kalyan'
(welfare). It has thrived to offer in-house facilities to people of all
social strata including children, house-wives and youngsters for growth
of their good habits, health and career. It has reserved special time
slots for elderly members to avail facilities in different departments
for recreation, health care and sporting.
Today the name of the Samity with its multifarious departments like
Football & Cricket Coaching, Gymnastics, Yogasan, Multigym,
Swimming Coaching, Table Tennis etc., is considered as one of
the leading clubs of South Kolkata which has been able to develop many
competent and aspirant players in the State and National level in the
area of Swimming, Football, Cricket and Gymnastics.
Samity has celebrated its Golden Jubilee (50th Anniversary)
in a grand way in the year 2012 - 2013.
